as you already know, whenever someone achieves a max title, it displays:

SUM GUY has achieved LEGENDARY UBER LEET MASTOR OF FARMING PIXELZ. favor has been blabhalablah...

this gets EXTREMELY annoying.. especially during the SS+LB pt weekends.. i was about to shoot myself because anet was spamming me with line after line of text.

i propose a toggle on/off setting so you can turn off achievements and HoH winners.

this can include when a player gains a skill point/level.

your opinions?

Personally I find most of the system-wide announcements annoying and non-critical. Favor is no longer an issue. A simple checkbox entitled "Suppress non-critical system announcements" would cover things. Which should limit this to "New Build" - the only critical issue that remains.

complete agreement with this - i don't really mind the constant stream of green text, but if it's not essential information, i could live without it.

I wouldn't mind having a toggle for all announcements, like the HoH winners or title achivements. I personally wouldn't turn it off, but it would be nice to have the option since they don't affect me.

/not signed, while it can actually be really annoying sometimes I feel the least we can give players is that display for all thier hard work, I know if I ever maxed a pve title I would like my friends to see it etc. It simply isnt needed.

thanks man, you made me laugh. sorry, but i've managed a series of announced "accomplishments". i could care less if the world knows that i'm a holy lightbringer, or that i finally managed a survivor character.

i was thinking that the function would be more useful in terms of the weekend events. i've had missions go where the party chat became unintelligable due to the stream of "uberleet noobkiller has achieved legendary carpal tunnel!"

for these times, it would be nice to be able to turn the bloody announcements off.

seeing as how i have no use for pve titles, it is kind of hard to max a pvp title, dont you think?

I personally don't see it as a problem, but I don't disagree. It doesn't bother me, and sometimes it's nice to see a friend's name pop up when they achieve something.

Its nice to see people completing an achievement... but after a while it gets really anoying and a toggle would be nice. If you feel like you are being cheated out of some satisfaction... then go to LA and type in allchat

"I ACHIEVED LEGENDARY SURVIVOR!!!1"

and see how may players care. Other than that you can toggle it on for yourself and make a SS and frame it to hang behind your computer just before you achieve whatever title you just finished grinding for.

It's not really a bother, in only happen in some towns and outposts.

The toggle on/off should be for you being shown, not for other seen you or not, for those that no not want to get whispered when getting max titles.

As for it robbing people of their sense of achievement.

I really couldnt care less if some random player just maxed a title. It has zero effect on me or my gameplay, so to me its just an extra line of spam.

At the end of the day I highly doubt people are maxing titles so that random players can see they managed to do so. So having it as a toggle wouldnt change anything. (Besides killing some spam)

i'm put for this if and only if they include a option to toggle off the hall of hero spam. I find that much more annoying because it across the whole game, not just a hand full of towns.

Long ago when /favor was suggested my friend and I also suggested a toggle for HoH spam. /favor was finally added but never got the toggle.

Really don't care either way. I like the idea of players getting a little more control over their interface. I guess that is essentially a chat channel so in theory should be able to be shut off. I would say that if we can shut off the title messages then we should be able to shut of the HoH messages as well. But, I can deal with this either way.

If you're that bothered by it, you're spending a lot of time in either one of the main port towns (read: trade towns) or one of the towns to get into FoW/UW (read: farm towns), so you really shouldn't be making fun of people being "UBER LEET MASTORS OF FARMING PIXELZ." Seems like you care just as much about fake gold.
